Intercom
Connect Intercom and sync support conversations from included inboxes into Layr.
Intercom brings customer support conversations into Layr's evidence layer. Layr reads inboxes you include — not every conversation in your Intercom workspace by default.
Who can connect Intercom
Only Owner and Workspace admin roles can open Integrations and manage Intercom.
Before you connect
- You need permission to authorize Intercom OAuth for your Intercom workspace.
- Identify which inboxes (for example product support vs. sales) contain signal you want in product decisions.
- Intercom ingest is currently read-only for product analysis.
Connect Intercom
Open Integrations
In the Layr app, open Integrations from the workspace navigation.
Start OAuth
On the Intercom card, select Connect and approve Layr in Intercom.
Discover inboxes
Layr lists Intercom inboxes available to the authorized account. If none appear, confirm the Intercom workspace is connected, then Refresh sources.
Enable inboxes and confirm
Toggle on the inboxes Layr should read, then select Confirm and start first sync.
What gets synced
Conversation content from included inboxes becomes evidence Layr can cite in Ask, review, and opportunity workflows. Excluded inboxes are never ingested.
After the first sync
- Monitor inbox freshness from Home and the Intercom card on Integrations.
- Admins can re-run sync after large backlog imports or inbox restructuring.
- Webhooks help keep included inboxes current after the first confirmed sync.
Tips
- Start with the inbox your CS or support team treats as the product feedback queue.
- Coordinate with whoever owns Intercom admin access if OAuth approval must happen outside your Layr workspace.
